oogly at Synergy Youth Resiliency Center

I had the pleasure of leading an oogly workshop at Synergy Services Youth Resiliency Center this weekend in Kansas City. What a wonderful organization doing creative outreach for kids. Synergy Services began as a shelter for homeless and runaway children and now provides those services plus support for young children and women who have been victims of abuse.
In addition to providing safe housing for young people in crisis they also provide medical, dental and mental health services to teens. But that’s not all – Synergy Services also recognize the role the arts and creativity as an important support piece for the children and young adults they serve.
Through a partnership with Kansas City YoungAudiences, they provide workshops and classes for young people to explore self-expression and development through the arts. On Saturday, a group joined me to make ooglys and just be creative.
As you can see, despite the challenges these kids are encountering, their creativity found an outlet in oogly. Thanks to everyone who made the workshop possible at Synergy Services.
